The department elevated itself to offer major courses in Botary. The Post graduate department had its inception in 2018 and became a full-fledged PG department in 2023 from the teaching of conventional botany. The emphasis in the PG and UG programs at present is to give a comprehensive professional training in the field of Plant biology and Plant biotechnology. The Postgraduate Department of Botany has been offering B.Sc. M.Sc. Botany. The Department follows Choice Based Credit System and internal assessment. It has a well sophisticated laboratory equipped with instruments. It also has a separate texts, reference books and journals are kept for use by students and research scholars from other institutions
